Tasmania is set to continue to benefit from the rollout of new fire detection technology which will help reduce the spread of major bushfires, safeguarding valuable plantation assets and even local communities.

SFM have been selected by New Forests to manage the former Norske Skog softwood estate in southern Tasmania.

The devasting bushfires currently ravaging Australia will have a long term impact on the forest industry. The future wood supply profile from affected forests is likely to be vastly different to that underpinning the long term agreements that provide the balance between supply and demand.

SFM Asset Management recently had the pleasure of harvesting and marketing a pine plantation owned by the Rendelsham Primary School, located in South Australia.

Harvesting has commenced in the Green Triangle. Managed by SFM Asset Management, this property is expected to yield over 55,000 tonnes of high quality Bluegum woodchip for export through the Portland Chip Terminal.
